Why is Paige Cognetti running for Congress?

Paige Cognetti is running because she watched Rep. Rob Bresnahan say one thing in Northeastern Pennsylvania and do another in Washington — and believes the people of this district deserve better. She is running to take the fight against corruption and broken promises from City Hall to Capitol Hill. As she put it at her campaign launch: "I'm running for Congress because people here deserve a lot better than a rich kid disrespecting our hard work and proud legacy. We can stand tall against a Washington that takes advantage of working people and make it work for us." Her platform centers on banning congressional stock trading, protecting Medicaid, lowering costs for working families, and bringing the same results-focused approach she applied in Scranton to Washington.
