What is Paige Cognetti's position on congressional stock trading?

Paige Cognetti supports a full ban on stock trading by members of Congress and considers it a straightforward issue: "It is not at all about begrudging anyone's wealth. It's just, do it as a private citizen." She is running directly against a congressman who campaigned on banning stock trades and then made more than 600 trades — totaling $7.24 million — during his first year in office, ranking fifth among all members of Congress in trading volume.

Several of Bresnahan's trades, including the sale of $130,000 in Medicaid provider stocks the week before he voted for the largest Medicaid cuts in U.S. history, have drawn particular scrutiny. Cognetti frames this as the central broken promise of his term: "We won't sit back as Bresnahan day trades away our future."
